Information
The Matisian Border Guards are a Matis military tribe operating in Knoll of Dissent. They are charged with keeping the peace in this region bordering the Majestic Garden, and although they will offer any homin shelter within their camp, their duty makes them distrustful of all races, even other Matis. They are constantly at war with the First Deserters, a tribe of Matis rebels operating in the same region. Being a branch of the Matisian army, the Matisian Border Guards naturally follow the Karavan.

Thus the Matisian Border Guards were founded during the rule of Jinovitch, as part of his efforts to reinforce his rule on the Verdant Heights and prepare for his invasion of the Fyros empire. Likely they were originally tasked with making sure no Fyros managed to pass through the forests undetected, though these days their duties are wholly different.
